1

who am I

I was born on January 25, 1965, in Rotterdam, the youngest of twins. I still live in Rotterdam, where I work as a Customer Support Specialist at ABB Marine & Ports (Asea Brown Boveri). Together with my twin brother Ed, we came into this world two months early; in 1965, twins were not yet an everyday phenomenon, and we were born with great interest in the former hospital known as "Dijkzicht," now University Medical Center Rotterdam (UMC Rotterdam). After primary school and technical secondary school, I started working at the age of sixteen as an electrical panel engineer in the Low Voltage Panels (LVS) department at Asea Brown Boveri, then still known as "Brown, Boveri & Cie."

Education and career

In the first year of a five-year evening school program, I started as an AutoCAD Designer (technical draftsman). I obtained my MTS diploma in Automation and Energy Technology in 2002 (read: in four years instead of five), after which I was given the position of Design Engineer. I worked in the enginerings office until my relocation in 2008, after having worked at Low Voltage Systems for 26 years, to ABB Marine & Ports as a Service Coordinator. In March 2014, I became a Service Support Specialist to support the Sales, Spares, and Service groups in identifying and investigating old systems and offering replacement modern systems (Retrofit). As of October 1, 2017, I transferred to the Sales team, where I handle Spares and the aforementioned support tasks. Since 2020, I have been Team Leader Spare Parts for the Dutch department and support the teams in Germany, England, and Denmark.
"ABB Marine".

What else did and I do .....

I started doing sports at the age of 19; before that, I was in three orchestras, playing different instumenrs, like trompet, bugel and later a French Horn, but that ended after my military service. From 1985, I worked as a sports instructor on Thursday evenings at Loek Hollander's gym, but after the gym stopped (bankrupt) stopped as a instructor, I now train at a David Lloyd branch.

Or rather, I did...From 1985 until 2012, I practiced the noble sport of Kyokushinkai Karate; this is a full-contact form of karate, in which I am allowed to wear the brown belt.

I first started karate at the dojo of Loek Hollander, one of the founders of Kyokushin karate in the Netherlands, with Peter Voogt, Vlado Haljer, and Fernando Alonso as Shian. Later, Shihan Vlado Haljer started his own dojo, and I joined him. Shihan Haljer has two dojos in Rotterdam and Barendrecht.

and even more .....

For a lot of things I have done, I have received a certificate. Top-roping at "Monte Cervino", this is on the mountain where you can climb on a climbing wall with friends.
Obtained my Paragliding Certificate A in the French Alps at the first paragliding school in the Netherlands this school stopped the activity in the alps

Osmo pocket

Osmo pocket

The DJI Osmo Pocket is the smallest 3-axis stabilized handheld camera DJI has ever designed. With minimal size and weight, it is your ideal travel companion that you can simply slip into your pocket. In terms of performance, the DJI Osmo Pocket is in no way inferior to the larger Osmo versions. The maximum speed of 120 degrees per second and the new algorithm for extra stable image ensure that you won't see any movement, even when filming from a roller coaster. The Pocket Osmo is equipped with exactly the same camera as the DJI Mavic 2 drones and therefore also features Object Tracking, so your camera automatically keeps following an object! The latest version with more options was released in 2020.

Sony FDR-AX33

Sony FDR-AX33

Crawling across the floor or striding across the stage, life is full of powerful moments. The Sony 4K camcorder captures them in ultra-detail in 4K quality with this compact FDR-AX33.
